Nancy Girgis is a General Dentist with a Special Interest in Periodontology | BDS (Egypt), MSc Perio (London) | GDC No. 224329 at Waterden Dental Practice. She graduated in 2000 from Ain Shams University in Egypt, receiving awards in General Medicine, General Surgery and Operative Dentistry. She later completed further professional training with the Royal College of Surgeons of England in London.
Nancy is an experienced dentist with over 20 years of clinical experience and more than 10 years of academic experience in the UK. Her passion for dentistry is reflected in her dedication to patient care, education, and advancing her professional knowledge.
During her career, Nancy has held both clinical and academic roles, working as a General Dentist while also contributing to dental education as a Senior Honorary Lecturer at the Faculty of Dental Surgery at the Royal College of Surgeons of England.
Recognising the significant impact of gum health on overall wellbeing, Nancy developed a strong interest in periodontology (gum health and gum disease treatment). She went on to complete a Master's degree in Periodontology with distinction at the prestigious UCL Eastman Dental Institute in London, one of the world's leading centres for postgraduate dental education and research.
Nancy's clinical expertise includes the diagnosis and treatment of periodontal and peri-implant diseases, helping patients prevent tooth loss and maintain long-term oral health. She provides a range of treatments for gum disease, periodontal maintenance, and advanced periodontal care, and is continuing to expand her skills in plastic periodontal and peri-implant surgery, including the treatment of gum recession and regenerative procedures. Nancy is an active member of the British Society of Periodontology and the European Federation of Periodontology, and her approach to dentistry focuses on patient wellbeing, trust, and long-term oral health, ensuring patients feel informed, comfortable, and involved in their treatment decisions.
